This Privacy Policy describes how dibi8.com (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit our website.

When you submit a tool or contact us via ctrl_c_ctrl_v@dibi8.com, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use this only to process your submission or reply to your inquiry.

5. Analytics (Google Analytics 4) #

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site usage. Google Analytics may use cookies to track anonymous interactions. We have enabled IP anonymization. For details, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention #

Email correspondence: retained while needed to resolve your inquiry, then deleted within 12 months
Analytics data: aggregated and retained per Google Analytics default (14 months)
Server access logs: rotated weekly

7. Your Rights #

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Request correction or deletion
Opt out of personalized advertising (see Section 4)
Withdraw consent for analytics tracking

8. Children’s Privacy #

dibi8.com is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

9. International Visitors #

dibi8.com is operated globally. By using the site, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection rules than your home country.

10. Changes to This Policy #

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of dibi8.com after any change indicates acceptance.

11. User Accounts and Authentication (Optional) #

dibi8.com offers optional user accounts via OAuth sign-in with Google or GitHub. You can read all free content without signing in — accounts unlock favorites, reading progress, newsletter subscription, and (in the future) VIP tutorial access.

11.1 What we collect from your OAuth provider #

When you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive (and store in our database):

Your name and email address
Your profile picture URL (if you have one set on the provider)
Your provider user ID (e.g. Google sub claim, GitHub username)

We never see or receive your Google / GitHub password.

11.2 What we generate ourselves #

Account creation timestamp and last sign-in timestamp
Favorited articles (slug + language) that you add via the heart button
Reading progress for tutorials (only if you opt in)
Newsletter subscription status (only if you explicitly subscribe at /me/)
Premium tier flag (set to false for everyone right now; will mark VIP members in the future)

11.3 Where account data lives #

All user account data is stored in Supabase — a Postgres-based backend hosted in the Tokyo (ap-northeast-1) region. Supabase’s privacy practices: Supabase Privacy Policy.

Row Level Security (RLS) policies enforce that each row can only be read or modified by the user who owns it.
Authentication tokens (JWT) are stored in your browser’s localStorage. We do not maintain server-side sessions or session cookies for authentication.
Supabase is hosted on AWS Tokyo region; data may be cached at CDN edges globally.

11.4 How to delete your account and all associated data #

You can request immediate deletion at any time:

Sign in to dibi8.com
Go to /me/ (linked from the user dropdown in the header)
Scroll to “Account settings” and click “Delete my account”
Confirm — your profile, favorites, progress, and newsletter subscription are permanently removed from our database
Backups containing your data are purged within 7 days

You can also email ctrl_c_ctrl_v@dibi8.com for manual deletion.

If you never click “Sign in”, we do not create any account record for you. The Site behaves exactly as it did before user accounts existed.
